Lindsay & Mike are getting married this coming June at The Flower Farm in Loomis, CA. I cannot wait for their wedding, we had so much fun photographing their engagement session this past weekend in and around the city. Stops inbetween for fruity cocktails and french fries, always makes for a great session I ♥ a man who brings more props and outfit changes than his fiancee and I know his and her cowboy boots will be making an appearance on their wedding day!!
I am super excited about seeing what these guys choose for their SAVE THE DATE postcards, I am IN LOVE with this awesome opening image of them kissing by the Ford Coppola Building which is one of my best and favorite nite shots, I think I have ever taken!! I hope you like it too, gets my VOTE!!
Lindsay is a big fan of black and white photography and this nite shot, looks pretty sexy in black and white too just saying
What do you think guys, I think we should put it to the VOTE, which one should Lindsay and Mike use for their save the dates, pop your vote in the comments box below I will report back which one made the cut…..I’m also rooting for the cool images of the bridge, came out of camera looking like a holga film image, LOVE IT!!

I am heading home next month to SCOTLAND to photograph Paul + Arlenes BIG DAY!! I cannot wait and not only that, I am extremely flattered and honored that they asked me to photograph their wedding day. Did I mention that Paul is like my favorite cousin and his parents are AWESOME!! Seeing my Uncle Ken in a kilt for the first time in my life is a sweet enough visual treat but to be asked to photograph the festivities and maybe what lies underneath a scotsman kilt (just kidding) is a real honour (and I am spelling honour the scottish way) looks weird! anyway…….hoho!
I was home in October and took advantage of the amazing autumn colors and historical backdrops my country has to offer. I met Paul and Arlene at Brigadoon, where the famous Rabbie Burns Monument lives amongst some amazing scottish landscapes.
Robert Burns, a famous scottish poet (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796) was born just around the corner from where we met up, unfortunately the house where he was born was surrounded by scaffolding, so no pictures there. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the scots language and he is most known for the poem and song Auld Lang Syne fittingly sung at the end of a Scottish Wedding Celebration. He is also the reason we scottish folks eat Haggis traditionally once a year on his birthdate and if you are lucky enough to be invited to a burns supper, you will celebrate his life with scotch whisky, haggis and the recitation of Burns’ poetry and if its super posh, a wee bit of dancing aka a ceilidh
Anyways, thats the history part over…..here are some awesome shots of Paul and Arlene. I do have to mention P+A are getting wed where I got married, the Piersland House Hotel which used to be the private residence of Johnnie Walker ( I know that name does not need introduction)
See you both soon!!
Please Enjoy!!

The awesome view!!

Liana and Will are getting married this September at the fabulous 1 Fort Mason, San Francisco I can’t wait
We scheduled their engagement session early so they can use an image for their Save The Date Cards, love that!! I’m excited to see what image they choose. I have to say, I had a difficult time narrowing down my faves to blog, so many great images. These guys are adorable and extremely photogenic don’t you think! What a beautiful couple. Liana is going to be such a stunning Bride and of course Will, a very handsome groom They also introduced me to a new bridge spot that I had yet to discover which was awesome and definitely good exercise, phew! We definitely earned our pizza and beers afterward, thank you so much for dinner
We also had Potter as an accessory for their session. What a super fun chilled doggie he was too…..and quite the poser!!
Here are some of my faves, like I said, super difficult to narrow it down, please enjoy!

In British Folklore the first-foot, is the first person to cross the threshold of a home on New Years Day and a bringer of good fortune for the coming year.
Although it is acceptable in many places for the first-footer to be a resident of the house, they must not be in the house at the stroke of midnight in order to first-foot (thus going out of the house after midnight and then coming back in to the same house is not considered to be first-footing). The first-foot is traditionally a tall, dark-haired male (can I put a wig on my husband? he is dark haired under that balding shaved head look of his! Ill go with that
The first-foot usually brings several gifts, including perhaps a coin, bread, salt, coal, or a drink (usually whisky), which respectively represent financial prosperity, food, flavour, warmth, and good cheer!!
With this tradition in mind I thought this would be the perfect blogpost to toast in 2010 I have pretty awesome parents, I have to say. They are also the most romantic and loving couple I know and after 40+ years of marriage, they still hold hands, even on a short walk to Safeway. Its pretty darn cute!
As I am writing this, its now 2010 in Scotland and in good honoured tradition my Dad first footed my mum for the 41st year!! My mum sits and brings in the New Year with the traditional New Year Celebrations unfolding on the TV and my dad freezes his ass off in this 2009-2010 minus 7 weather in the car listening to the radio. Waits a few minutes and then graces my mum with his tall dark handsome good looks as her first foot of 2010 bearing a variety of chocolate treats. Not so dark now, but still the same handsome man she fell in love with in high school are you tearing up yet?! it’s a pretty sweet tradition and to keep it up all these years!!BRAVO!!
So tonite, I’m going to honor the same tradition and have or demand depending how much whisky he drinks ;) my tall dark (shaved-headed) handsome husband first foot me and bring us some good fortune for 2010
Wishing you all the best for the New Year and CHEERS! here’s to a great year!!
Here are some super cute shots I took of my parents when I visited just a few months back, these were shot at Brigadoon in Ayrshire, Scotland.
Lots of love

As most of you know, I never travel without my entire suitcase full of camera gear….and my trip home to Scotland last month was no exception. I definitely need to rethink my longhaul camera travels though as I cannot physically lift my camera bag above my shoulders so (blush) always end up finding some strong gent on each flight to take care of the overhead locker. I think it may be time for me to seek a camera backpack solution :-/ But its always worth it!
Meet adorable wee Freddy. My good friends Laura and Stevie had their ‘honeymoon baby’ three months back and I was lucky enough to photograph his first portrait while I was home visiting. What an adorable little boy, super easy to photograph and lots of super cute wee expressions. Not only that, loves to go shopping with the girls and sleeps when its time for the ladies to lunch What more could a new mummy ask for Congrats again guys, hes just georgeous!! Kirsty xo

More Scotland photo treats coming soon, a ‘brigadoon engagement’, shots from glasgow and edinburgh and my scottish food photo diary

I love the last one. The lamppost adds a certain magic to the scene.
Adam and I agree that the shoes shot is very cute and would make lots of guests smile – it would also prepare their guests for the matching cowboy boots, no? But, we also really like under-the-trees shot on the right.
GOOD LUCK!
