Stephanie+Gavin Married|St Dominics Wedding Photography|The Green Room Wedding Photography|Kirsty Edwards

Stephanie and Gavin were such a pleasure to photograph and I was both honored and excited they picked me to photograph their special day at the beautiful St Dominics Catholic Church and the stunning Green Room in downtown San Francisco! Gavin is from Ireland (a hop, skip and a 1 hour plane ride from my motherland) so you can imagine my excitement when I found out friends and family were coming from afar. I could also talk really really fast and be understood :) fantastic!! and I also didn’t need a translator to chat with all these lovely guests ;) As you can see from my images, everyone had an absolute ball and I was so happy to be a part of it! Stephanie and Gavin, CHEERS, I wish you both a long, happy marriage filled with lots of beers and beautiful healthy children :-) Hugs, Kirsty xo

Megan+John Engaged|San Francisco Engagement Photography|Kirsty Edwards Photography

Meet Megan, John and Finnegan, aren’t they all adorable. Megan and John brought him along for their engagement session and it was his first time out in the real world. Lucky guy, he got to sniff some lavender and feel sand between his paws all on a beautiful sunny day in San Francisco. When does that ever happpen, sun in San Francisco? :) We started at the Lyon Street steps – which would whip anyone into shape walking that everyday :) and then we jumped in the car down to Chrissyfield to catch the beautiful sunset. Here are just a few of my faves from their session. Please enjoy xo

Sofie+Bobby Married|Eldorado Kitchen Weddings|Sonoma Wedding Photographer|Kirsty Edwards

I’m not sure where to start telling you all about Sofie+Bobbys beautiful wedding day at the stunning Eldorado Kitchen, Sonoma. I approach every wedding with the same excitement and passion of my 1st wedding, I truly do ❤ my job and S+B’s Big Day was no exception – from the minute they stopped by the studio and I heard all the details I knew we were the perfect match and it wasn’t long until their big day arrived! Sofie is from Denmark and it was a pleasure to see lots of close family and friends making the trip over the water to celebrate and witness this joyous occasion. It was a lot of fun photographing the joining of cultures and witnessing how they incorporated the danish traditions into their celebations. You will all be familiar with the tapping of glasses for the Bride and Groom to kiss but in Denmark if your guests stamp their feet the couple must crawl under the table for a smooch! Super Cute! and if the Groom leaves the top table all the men line up to kiss the Bride and vice versa. Many speeches and a good old danish singalong for the couple (which was sang to the tune of Auld Lang Syne) so I could hum along :-) came the first dance. Which was kinda cool – not only did the couple dance and the guests surround them, the groom was then flung in the air, his shoes pulled off him and get this, the toes of his socks cut off?!! Hilarious!! thankfully Sofie gave me a heads up beforehand to let me know there would be a stampede and some toe action :) The nite ended with Bobbys friends gifting him a painting of a ‘huge cock’ (his words not mine ;-) oh and a surprise speech from his boss at the end of dinner promoting him to VP!! Huge Congrats to Bobby….

Sofie you were an absolutely stunning Bride and you make such a handsome couple! I had so much photographing your engagement and wedding day and all the little details that made your day special. Please enjoy some of my favorites!!

Lots of Love

Sofie + Bobby Engaged|Treasure Island Engagement Photography|Kirsty Edwards Photography

Sofie and Bobby are getting wed at the end of this month at the beautiful Eldorado Hotel in Sonoma which I am very excited about. Stunning couple and stunning location :) Their wedding is going to be beautiful. Sofie is a very talented fashion designer and you can find her line in several boutiques around the city or visit her website at Sofie Olgaard Sofie and Bobby requested a urban backdrop for their engagement session so I happily suggested Treasure Island as I have been dying to shoot here for a long time and it did not disappoint. Not only were there plenty of fabulous backdrops for portraits, we also got to view the 40ft dancing naked lady sculpture by local artist, Marc Cochrane and take advantage of incorporating it into our session, very cool! :) We ended our session on the Embarcadero for a nite shot against the cityscape, LOVE :-) Here are just a few of my favorites, please enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday Lilah|San Mateo Portrait Photographer|Kirsty Edwards Photography

This little Burlingame CutiePie turned ONE! last week and today was her party at Ryder Park in San Mateo. A very special birthday/milestone for every little person, mom and dad decided to combine coverage of her birthday party with a short portrait session :-) Lilah was joined by lots of friends who sang happy birthday and devoured ‘homemade’ cupcakes by Mom. As you can see Lilah was a big fan of the frosting :) There were way too many cute kids at the party to share with you so I kept the sneak peeks just to Lilah. She honestly has friends, it wasnt just Mom, Dad and I celebrating, I promise :) The maracas in the party bag I might add were a huge hit. My kids enjoyed trying to munch them when I returned home :) Please Enjoy!

Stephanie+Gavin Engaged|Green Room Weddings|Kirsty Edwards Photography

Hello BLOG it has been a while! I have been a very busy bee over here at the studio. Lots of album designing, editing, photo sessions and entertaining my wee helpers Shea and Mirren who are keeping me on my toes. Coming up for 5 months, they are truly the light of my life :) While I have been MIA blogwise, I have lots and lots to share and will try, try, try to start blogging lots of exciting new images.

Stephanie and Gavin are getting married this coming August at St Dominics Church and then the stunning Green Room in San Francisco which I am very excited about, both fabulous locations. They are an absolute darling couple and I cannot wait to capture their special day! We set out in the Mission District to capture some shots at the Murals which Stephanie suggested. I am ashamed to admit having an office in the Mission for a few years, I had not visited the murals before! Shame on me! They are fantastic and proved to be a great backdrop for the start of our session. It was a beautiful and sunny day in San Francisco so we headed over to the water to catch the sunset all be it, a chilly windy sunset but gorgeous none the less and we got some beautiful images :D We then finished the nite off at Gaspares Pizza, mmmmmmmm delicious! and a wee glass of red was well deserved for being such wonderful models. Stephanie is from the Bay Area and Gavin is from Ireland, a hop skip and 1 hour flight from my homeland and honestly I could listen to the accent allday – really looking forward to meeting all the family on the wedding day and I know its going to be a great celebration :D After a few beers we might even get Gavin on the dancefloor to bust out that oh so awesome Michael Jackson move again :)

Please enjoy some of my favorites from their session! xo Big thanks to the lovely and incredibly talented Julie Dy for doing hair and make up for our session, Stephanie looked amazing!

Kirsty, WOW! I am a co-worker of Gavin’s and am starting my own photography business. I saw one of your photos of Gavin and Stephanie on Facebook and I had to track down your website. I just wanted to say that your images are stunning and very inspiring. I know how much effort goes into these shoots, but you make it look effortless. I can’t wait to see your captures of their wedding!

Liana+Will|Fort Mason Wedding|Argonaut Hotel|San Francisco Wedding Photography

Finally catching up on my blogging in between the twins milkshakes :) and kicking off showcasing all my beautiful weddings with Liana and Will who were married at 1 Fort Mason, San Francisco. The girls got ready at the lovely Argonaut Hotel in the Fishermans Wharf while the boys got ready at their house. It was a gorgeous sunny day and Liana looked absolutely stunning, I think you will all agree! Will is one lucky guy :) The couple adorable dog potter starred as a groomsman, he was extremely well behaved and looked quite dapper in his purple tie. My one unanswered question from Liana and Wills wedding was who dove into their wedding cake before it was cut :) Whoops! Here are some of my favorite images, it was very hard to narrow down. Lianas bouquet and flowers were beautifully designed by Nasrin and Momo of Lalavande Flowers. This wedding was stunning and much fun to photograph :) Big thanks to Rob for 2nd shooting with me :D Please enjoy!

  • Kirsty,
To see these images is to know Bobby and Sofie. You beautifully captured the aspects of their pensive, romantic and fun personalities. One of your previous brides, Austin, recommended you very highly. You have a terrific talent and we are so looking forward to seeing even more.

Welcome to the world|Shea and Mirren|Kirsty Edwards Photography

BlogShea
BlogMirren
On 2.1.11 these two amazing little people rocked my world. 10 weeks early, they definitely were a surprise arrival and it took us 5 days to give them their names. My water broke prematurely at 27 weeks and I spent 3 and half weeks in the hospital where I was to stay until they arrived (due date in April) After a late nite online scrabble game with my husband where ‘daddy’ and ‘mum’ were played on the board, hello contractions! after a false alarm the previous Thursday I knew this was the real deal. The game plan was to try and halt the contractions so a non alarming text to my husband at 3am asking him to come over to labor and delivery led to a very laid back ok, i got time for a shower and a cup of tea. By 4am the carebears were on the road to the big world, when we called to ask him if he was here. I’m still at home, get your a** over here! Thankfully it took 45 mins to prep me for an emergency section as Shea was breach and Daddy made it running around the hallways with literally 2 minutes to spare. At 5:06am and 5:08am our carebears were born, screaming like kittens and Shea weighed only 2 pounds 15 and Mirren 2 pounds 12.

They are a week old today and amazing their nurses in the NICU with their progress and as I look back at last weeks pictures, its crazy how much they have changed. Today I will definitely be heading over to see them armed with my camera :-) Everyday is a milestone and their strength and courage never ceases to amaze me, I’m still in shock these little characters grew inside me and I cant wait to take them home.

Huge thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the NICU Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital for looking after me and continuing to look after Shea and Mirren xo

Also a huge thanks to all my wedding clients whose continued support and patience is really appreciated xo
